New features to Arklight

I’ve gotten many requests to add some references, definitions, and explanations to the Arklight story. I’m happy to announce, that box is checked, thanks to Amazon Kindle’s X-ray feature. It works very similar to the Amazon Fire TV system, in which it allows the viewer to look up the cast, history, terms, and other information about the novel. X-ray works on Kindle readers and the Kindle app, so it’s very user friendly.

I have gone through both, Operation Nightfall and Force Interdiction , adding over 200 links to historical events, locations, characters, military terms, and units. It is my hope that this detailed information will enhance the reading experience. I also hope that the reader will realize the true scope of the sacrifices made by some very heroic people. Men like Eugene Fluckey, John Bell, George Patton, and many others faced impossible odds and defeated a terrible foe in Nazi Germany.

AWARD WINNER!

My debut novel, and 1st book in the series, Arklight: Operation Nightfall has won the 2018 Readers’ Favorite Bronze Medal for Christian Thrillers. It was an inspired tale that came to me in such a way; it begged to be written. I am very honored to receive a major international award. I have entered Arklight: Force Interdiction in the 2019 competition, so I’m hoping for much of the same!

I’m really happy to announce that Operation Nightfall will be on display at the Miami Book Fair, November 11-18, 2018, by Readers’ Favorite. My book placed third out of thousands of submissions and that’s a pretty awesome milestone. I hope to have the final book in the series through the initial write by sometime in early 2019. For now, I will seriously enjoy this moment!

The ARKLIGHT Story Continues!

In preparation for the release of Arklight: Force Interdiction, I have completed a newly revised version of Operation Nightfall! I took a few liberties, adding a few sprinkles that will carry the story into Book 3 – Task Force Crusader.

I’m about two-thirds of the way into the initial write and the story is truly turning into a bitter battle of good versus evil. There’s so much history to discuss! The Nazis, Hitler’s escape from Berlin, the Alsos Missions, the Order of the Black Sun, the Teutonic Knights, and the Order of the Knights Templar. What an incredible journey!

Readers’ Favorite has already given two reviews, calling Interdiction “Powerful, Epic, and well-written.” The plot was described as “complex”, the characters “rich”, and the settings “brilliant” by the reviewers. Self-Publishing review and a few more should be coming out in the next couple of weeks!

Latest Review

Some books, especially those written by well-known authors, get hundreds, even thousands of reviews online. Getting started can be tough, and getting feedback can be even tougher. However, for new writers this interaction with the average reader, professional reviewers, and even staunch critics is imperative to the process. We feed off of every review and use them for guidance, motivation, and even future story-line input. Personally, I read every review and find something useful in all of them.

This lastest review came from Lindsay Merkel ,a professional reviewer, and I was floored after reading it. She wrote that she believed if it needed a comparison, “then think a Tom Clancy – Indiana Jones crossover with religious themes.” To get compared to my favorite author of all-time and a movie franchise created by George Lucas is high-praise if you ask me. She described Arklight as: “Brilliant” – “Distinctive” – “Unique” – “Impressive”. This was a great review and I pulled some strong motivation out of it as I sit down today to continue writing Task Force Crusader (Half way done with the initial!). Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback for this book series. Look for FORCE INTERDICTION to release August 13th, 2018!

 

Nightfall is getting a little attention!

Thanks @bookaddict’sreview for 4-Stars and kind words! She’s one of the top reviewers in the Amazon world and she’s pretty tough to impress. Getting a really good review on my first offering made my day!

A little update on the series seems in order. I’ve started book 3, actually I’m about 30k words into the initial draft. I thought it appropriate to title the offering, Task Force Crusader. It will pick up a few months after Interdiction ends and you won’t believe where Spear Team goes next! Stay tuned for release information and updates.
